Depending on the form of the steel strapping coil there two different types of strapping dispensers for steel strapping available:

• Strapping dispensers for ribbon wound steel strapping
• Strapping dispensers for oscillated wound steel strapping

Strapping dispensers for ribbon wound steel strapping have a slot where the steel strap coil is put in. Due to a ball bearing the steel strap can be easily unwound. For mainly stationary use, strapping dispensers for ribbon wound steel strapping are available in an inexpensive standard version. For mainly mobile use, the massive version with massive rubber wheels should be used.

Strapping dispensers for oscillated wound steel strapping have an axis for core ID 406 mm and side discs that - together with the integrated brake - prevent the steel strap from falling off the dispenser.
